The Katesgrove and Minster Safer Community Forum serves the wards of Katesgrove and Minster and includes members of many groups active in the area together with representatives of Reading Borough Council and Thames Valley Police.

The group feeds back to the Safer Reading Campaign.

The objectives of the group are to improve the levels of both actual and perceived safety from crime. There is an emphasis on actions which assist crime prevention, such as improvements to lighting.

The group actively promotes the "Crimestoppers" initiative, where someone with knowledge of a crime but who is afraid of repercussions can pass information to the police totally anonymously. Specific campaigns by Crimestoppers which are illustrated here are against drug dealing and handling of stolen property.
